MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD AT THE DANNY FLEAR COMMUNITY CENTRE ON
Thursday 18th June 2026, at 7:30pm
Minutes taken by The Clerk: Mrs. Val Austin
(These minutes will be checked at the next meeting before the council amends/approves them as a correct record)
PRESENT: Cllr Nigel Marshall (Chair), Cllr Bridgett Posey (Vice Chair), Cllr Peter Bedford,
Cllr Roy Pearson, Cllr Amy Marshall, Cllr Tony Wheeler, Cllr Judith Godwin, and the
Clerk Val Austin.
Also Present: One member of the public was present.
The meeting was called to order at 19:28pm
1. Chairman to open the meeting: Welcome to you all.
2. Apologies: To receive and accept apologies where a valid reason for the absence has been given to the Clerk prior to the meeting.

3. Public Forum: To resolve to suspend the meeting for a maximum of 10 minutes to allow members of the public to ask questions or make short statements to the council.
Start time: 19.29pm
• The resident mentioned speeding along Priory Road, and can the Parish Council help with this.
• All councillors agreed for the clerk to write to Lincolnshire police, asking for more help, especially on Priory Road.
• The clerk to get the data from the radar speed camera and to report to the councillors
• The resident also mentioned the bird scarers, that go off in the fields.
• The parish councillors mentioned that we live in a farming village and you will need to get used to the sounds.

4. Police Matters: Stats and incidents are available to view on the police website. Local
• Freiston Shore x 2 reports for April 2026 – Violence and Sexual offences
• Freiston Shore x 1 report for April 2026 – Anti Social Behaviour
• Freiston Shore x 1 report for April 2026 – Burglary
5. Minutes: To approve the minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on the 21st May 2026. To resolve as a correct record and to authorise the Chairman to sign the official minutes:
• All Councillors resolved for the chairman Cllr Nigel Marshall to sign the minutes.
6. Declarations of interest (if any): To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests
• No declarations declared
7. Planning update: Town and Country Planning Act 1990 - To consider and make observations on all planning applications received and to note planning approvals, refusals, enforcement complaints and appeal decisions advised by Boston Borough Council.
To include those received between the day of posting this notice and the day of the meeting.
None received
8. Updates / Discuss and resolve the following items
8.1. Highway and Roads – Update
• Cllr Roy Pearson mentioned Bakers Lane, but nothing major to report.
8.2. Fire at the Priory – Update
• The clerk emailed Boston Borough Council Environmental department with concerns of burning commercial waste and received a reply stating that they are awaiting information from the resident.
• Cllr Bridgett Posey will speak with the resident.
• Update when available
• To be removed from further agenda’s and minutes.
8.3: Brand End Road – Holmers Lane – Update
Speed Limit
• The clerk sent a map of the area and the speed limits
• The clerk showed the councillors the map at the meeting.
• Not received a reply from LCC or Cllr Alistair Ardunell
• Update when available
8.4: Park Lane speed bumps – Update
• The clerk has emailed LCC Highways, and has received a reply stating a case number and has been sent to the relevant department
• The clerk received a reply, stating that the road was assessed at the time of the resurfacing and it was decided that no speed bumps would be put back on this road.
• The clerk has asked LCC highways what needs to be done to get them re-installed. Waiting for a reply.

8.5: Kings Head Radar Speed Radar Pole – Update
• The clerk has emailed LRSP, asking when the pole will be repaired.
• The clerk has been advised that the works are out for repair but has not yet been repaired. Once repaired they will inform The clerk.

9: Finance:
9.1 Bank Account: Statement of accounts as at 18th June 2026
Community Account Balance - £2,000.96
Instant Access Savings Account Balance - £25,489.32
Fixed Term Deposit Account - £40,000.00 – Maturity Date November 2026
9.2 To approve the accounts for payments
Payments due June 2026 - £2,020.24
Payments made in between meetings - £159.25
Receipts received June 2026 - £24.23

• Cllr Judith Godwin mentioned that the church gates are continuously open.
• Cllr Peter Bedford mentioned Witham Forth pumping station, and the upcoming works to restore the Board's main Hobhole drain, the old one will be demolished.
• There will be an open event, and councillors are encouraged to attend.
